Life Saving Rules
“Safety has top priority everywhere - inside and outside Roehm. We make no compromises here. Our top priority is zero accidents.”
We care about everyone, everywhere
The Roehm Life Saving Rules form the basis for the safe performance of our activities and to protect people from serious harm and injury. They define the common requirements for dealing with the main risks and hazards as well as preventive measures for the general avoidance of accidents.
Our Life Saving Rules can prevent the majority of all serious accidents – when properly implemented and strictly followed. They address the high-risk activities that we’re involved in and provide the framework and guidance for safe operations.
Life Saving Rules are real life-savers. Accidents that kill people or leave them disabled for the rest of their lives are especially tragic. These rules apply to all employees, contractors, service providers and visitors.
The Life Saving Rules support existing company and site safety management systems. They are not intended to replace management systems, policies, safety training programs, operating procedures, or work instructions. In fact, Life Saving Rules rely on this safety management system being in place.

Basic Safety Rules
In addition to the Life Saving Rules, the Basic Safety Rules support and broaden the program to provide fundamental awareness about general risks and behavioral patterns.
Violation of Rules
Our Life Saving Rules and Basic Safety Rules are non-negotiable. We encourage all employees to be vigilant and to address any grievances, deviations or misconduct.
No employee shall allow a colleague, contractor or visitor to violate any of these rules or site policies/procedures. This includes observing someone else violating a rule and not taking immediate corrective action.
If someone disregards the Life Saving Rules, they are choosing to go against our Roehm values – therefore, all employees have the right and responsibility to stop any work that cannot be done safely. No work is so important that you risk your life or that of your co-workers for it.
However, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken in situations where Life Saving Rules or Basic Safety Rules are disregarded.
See something, say something!
“Following strictly our set of Life Saving Rules and Basic Safety Rules will help all employees to stay protected and healthy.”
